Merry Christmas you all. Plan to go fishing on Thursday for some sheepshead. Any suggestions? I learned that Light weight is the best, but how do you feel the tap or keep the bait in place with half once lead if tide is ripping and wind is blowing?

In strong wind I use a drop and lift technique. Best to fish a protected area away from open water when the winds are high, docks, seawalls, etc, sheep's are everywhere

How heavy is the main line you're using? 2 oz seems like a lot to hold a shrimp or fiddler, unless it's middle of a strong tide. Try straight up/down on the pilings. Don't be afraid to cast up/cross current and drift it back by structure. Like others have said, find a place out of the wind & stay mobile. There's a lot of places to find them that are easier fishing than the skyway.

Very heard to keep the bait down and feel a bite using light weight. I’ll try johns pass ext time

That's why. It's where you were. That current & wind gets ripping through there. Out on the pier should be easier. Fish for them like you would for mangos and tear them up.
