that was such bull they could have at least left it open to walk on at your own risk access and just left it alone. every time I think about it, or drive by it makes me sick. such a travesty

or at least have tore it all down, to make it easier to access the East side.

I had similar feelings of loss when local governments tore down the old Gandy bridge and the bike/hike trail that was there. We lost a good fishing area when that happened. The bikers and walkers lost out too.

I remember when We had the East Side Lanes. The Fish just could not escape us with people on both bridges to Fish from.

Was a sad scene when this happened. Notice how they were hauling off the the old bridge to create reefs somewhere else instead of just leaving it there.

Yeah, the original word was they would sink it there, but didn't. Instead they hauled it offshore for divers and such. I honestly believe there is a conspiracy against us pier anglers, several guys I know that have fished there for years agree.

Hurt the number of people that can fish the pier and eventually it wont be profitable for Pier Associates to operate it.

Commercial guides spearheaded the effort, the original plan was to demolish the east spans, but they opposed that because the east spans are bait havens on a falling tide with no hooks in the water.
