Agreed - those knots look awesome but complicated. I use an Albright knot as well. Been pretty reliable.

FG is very easy once you get the basic idea behind it and very good for ligher line. Once your line hit 30 or 40 braids and up.. then it will be slowly weaken.
PR knot is the strongest for heavier braid, haven't try this but should be simple if you have the tool and doesn't take that long once you master it imo.

Didn't Jethro Bodine use a lot of knots when he was ciphering?

I use the FG for heavier leader to braid (over 50lb), but using for lighter works for sure. I'll use a uni to uni on the lighter leaders as I can tie it super quick, really the only two knots I use.

There is a Good Animated Knot program up in "STICKY - MASTER GOOD INFO THREAD" on the 1st Page.
It is great for learning to tie all kinds of needed Knots.

Why not (pardon the pun) just use the FG knot for everything?

Now, I have me a couple of bobbins to hold thread for my teasers and flies. But that bobbin for the PR Bobbin Knot runs like $40 plus! Nope!!! I'll stick with my Albright. Ouch! GK
