Not headed out so can't meet ya today. However, here's some general advise.
Read a lot. There's tons of good info here on our forum and online regarding pier fishing in general and the skyway in particular.
If you're not catching, move a lot. If you've not caught something in max 1 hour, some would say 15 minutes, try somewhere else.
If the technique you're using for the targeted species isn't working, try another technique. Skyway rig with spoon not producing? Sabiki up some baits and put them out under a bobber. etc. etc.
If the fish you're targeting aren't cooperating, change species. No Mackerel? No worries. Get some bait down for Snappers, or try some jigging...
I would always have a spoon rig, a float rig, a knocker rig, and sabiki's with me when hitting the pier, along with a bucket and aerator for any bait you catch.
Hope it clicks for you soon!
