Got up early and decided to go to SSP. No keepers today. Incoming tide in the morning, and lots of big Sheapshead and Mangos you could see high up on the pilings. Couldn't convince the big Mangos to bite. Had about 10 shortie Mangos and two 12" Gags. Was trying to chum up the Snapper with dead shrimp, they turned their noses up. Cut Pilchards got most of the hits. Didn't see anyone near me catch any Macks. Bluerunners were biting though and Tarpon showing their backs. Anyone else make it out?

I got to the SSP Friday night after the rain, started looking for greenbacks with my sabiki, but just managed a few because the lady fish broke off every little hook on the line, then I tried for snapper but they were very sneaky and stole my bait all the time and the seven I caught were undersized. After ran out of greenbacks started fishing with artificial lures, but changed my mind because the water close to the pier was full of tarpons and they were huge and despite my spinning set up is strong I didn't want to harm a fish I can't keep or eat just for fun. There was a dude playing with then, and making a lot of noise every time he hooked one, he literally emptied his lure box playing whit those big fish, he was fishing with a light set up and every time he hooked one the leader got broken and then he tied a new lure and started again, one of the lastone hooked couldn't break the leader and died with a bomber lure in its gills, I tried to help him to land the fish to release it but was to late, it was really sad. I wanted to call the FWC, but he was with his little daughter and I just walked away and he kept " Having so much fun" . I felt bad about that beacuse the guy deserved some kind of punisment.
In the morning the fish accion was really hot, with my home made spoon filled my cooler of macks and big blue runners, the biggest mack was 22".
After all a bad night and a great morning.
