Looking toward either up the middle of the state or east coast. Lotta piers (and property) going to be damaged and "re-damaged" from Matthew.
Keep those in the crosshairs in your thoughts.

GK Maybe the Storm will tear down the Redington Beach Pier. It needs to be taken down. That Pier is a disaster due to the Owner not fixing it & making needed repairs.

Wouldn't just a heavy sneeze take down the Redington Pier?
I got some black pepper...
Sad thing is, Cocoa Beach pier just got back to snuff last month. Sebastian Inlet, probability be destroyed unfortunately. Scary stuff on East coast.

GK And all of the repairs they did to the East Coast Piers this Year, they may have to do it again depending on Irma's Course.

Most recent models indicate a storm track further to the west, up the center of the state...

I live in Madeira Beach and we were ordered out Friday AM. We got our stuff together closed op the house and left Sat AM. Did not have far to go. Only :5 miles to See bird's. Glad storm stayed a little bit further to E of is and is weakening. Hoping for minimal damage once we get all clear to go back. Still have power as of now 8:00PM or 2022 hrs.

well me and noah's ark will attempt to drive back as soon as there isn't too much rain on the roads back
we were in the A zone as well and no family lived close by couldn't go too a shelter as we didn't have enough pet carriers etc
so only option was 12 hour drive we packed up the 5 dogs and 2 cats some clothes etc drove only the back roads stayed off the interstates. saw 75 once and the line up to get gas was out of this world... lucky we didn't need any
only problem we experienced was our OLD sickly cat..... decided to do a dump in her carrier OMG what a stink! rotten fish have nothing on this cat

I hope everyone is safe and sound. Work has kept me pretty busy lately and have not had time to look at the forum, much less do any fishing. we are just getting Irma here in Leesburg and the wind is howling!

I hope everyone fared well in the storm. I'm glad to see it weaken as fast as it did. My house had very minor damage, so thankful, it could have been so much worse. I'm also hoping our favorite fishing spots are undamaged as well (secondary to everyone's safety of course).

hopefully all pier rats and family got through the storm ok.
I'm in a single wide myself, in fear of cat 5 or 4 I packed all my clothes and basic needs along with some unneeded(computer, fishing gear and such) and headed to family's place with 12 cats and a dog (9 of witch are kittens looking for homes)
Lots of down limbs and minor damage but place fared well. Power was back on late this evening.
Hope all is safe.

But plan to drive back starting Friday. I think shadowxmas lost power late night on the 10th. Have not heard from her since but a neighbor checked and she and her Mom are ok at my place. I believe my apartment suffered minimal damage if any. I hope and pray that all of you fared ok during this terrible event.

I hear ya, Aussieguy! We have 5 dogs and a cat so shelter is really not an option. We had to hunker in place. Luckily we got off with roof shingles stripped. Now to find a roofer in Polk County (hint hint).
The dogs must've thought we were camping in my bedroom.
Glad you're ok, AG!

Just got our power back on in Sumter county. Made it through the storm OK. A few trees down, but it could have been worse.
Still trying to catch up on the news. Looks like the Key's, and Naples took a bad hit. Was there much storm damage in Tampa/St.Pete?

In my opinion not much, considering how the storm was looking. Just down the road from where I was taking shelter there are houses in 3 foot of water. Being flooded my Lithia springs

Things are more or less alright here. What we got was nothing compared to what happened to you guys. It came straight through Atlanta and moved from there. We got a lot of people without power and damage from downed trees, but that's about it
