Went to NSP Monday morning, arrived at 7:30am(later than I like to) first cast in keeper snapper but after that pinfish killing the shrimp. Saw a few tarpon surface and dolphin were everywhere. Did manage to catch a 3' bonnethead shark so we had shark tacos for dinner, yum. I did see a few nice(~16") mackerel caught also

Good to see you were able to bring home something to eat! I have tried a few different baits out on the skyway the past few months. I have had the best luck using cut Threadfins or Ballyhoo. I have caught a range of keeper fish on those. Such as: Snapper, Grouper, Bluefish, Ladyfish, Mackerel. I have used shrimp a few times, and from my experience it seemed like I was getting more hits from bait fish than anything.

That will save You some money on shrimp. Cut bait also works for Snapper at times. Or Set up a Sabiki.
