This summer i started pompano fishing and i got to say it is pretty fun, when they're biting of course. some days they'll be in thick and some days ill only get one or two. moving around fishing different parts of st. pete from pass a grille to fort desoto and the skyway. Attachments:

You make it look easy bro!!! I've tried the jigging and never got the hang of it. Got frustrated and gave up. But they sure taste good if you can get them.

Trick is to feel the jig/lure touch bottom on every lift of the rod tip. Like EVERY bounce off the bottom. The thing is to have a goofy jig weight that will drop according to the current. GK

If fishing at skyway is incoming or outgoing tide better for pomp? I prefer incoming so I can bounce the jig toward me, reeling in at every bottom strike. However, I've caught them both ways. Gotta keep hitting bottom. Not sure if it matters to us, it is of the opinion of the fish. And the fish hasn't spoken to us yet. GK (the Fish Whisperer)
