My son and I fished the North Venice Jetty for snapper both mornings. We limited out both days using mostly greenies. Some were caught on shrimp. Here is a picture of the snapper piled onto a cooler. Also, I am posting a pic from a kayaking trip on the Indian River a few weeks ago. Got my personal best black drum.

Nice!!! Been fishing the South jetties regularly this week. Got a 30 lb black drum fishing for pomps and landed it on 8lb braid!!! The pompano bite has been on fire. My last trip I caught 12 pomps and 3 short mackerel in 1 hr 15 min time. 2 keeper pomps. Tonight I caught a 15in spotted sea trout, 2 macks, and a few ladyfish. No pomps. Now that I know there are good numbers of mangroves there.....

Is the pompano fishing better from the South Jetty?

Please ignore me.. was thinking skyway fishing pier.

Is the pompano fishing better from the South Jetty? To be honest, I have never fished the north jetty, so I don't really know. There's a special distinguished rock I stand on every time that I fish on the south. I mainly stick to the middle and cast on the south end. The times I was there I noticed most people were just fishing with live shrimp or using artificials for mackerel....couple people dead-sticking with mullet. I was the only one slinging silly willies and I was turning heads with all the fish lol. If you do give it a try...I recommend a lower water level with tide moving either way. Good luck!
