Hit the SSP Friday morning at 700 with another bucket of medium shrimp looking for Snappers. Water wasn't as clear as the past weeks and the tide was comming in bringing some grass with it. Started out catching small Mangos, half a dozen or so and the same number of baby grouper. Flipper made a brief appearance at dawn slapping his tail and didn't see him after that. Once the sun came up Pilchards of various sizes were abundant and willing to hit a sabiki. I wound up with one keeper Mango and one keeper Lane, enough for dinner. Threw back a Sea Bass and a 16" Gag that hit my shrimp right next to a piling. Good thing I bought a bigger setup and had a 30lb leader. I managed to stop him by using what I read in one of Sky Jay's post of just reeling like a madman when they hit. A quick measure and picture and then I sent him back to grow another 8 inches or so. Overall another good day, just had to brave the heat and sun. post image
