Arrived at 645 am and stayed till 1100 am. Had four dozen medium size frisky shrimp. Started out just past the entrance/booth looking for Mangos. Got a hard hit and then it dived down and I lost it in some kind of structure. Moved down a bit same hard hit, then broken off on the piling. Going to have to buy better sized gear, the light stuff wasn't able to wrangle them out and my Diawa Opus on the Tidewater rod is to big/not sensitive enough. Gona hit up some pawn shops. Landed two Porgies that went back to get a little fatter as well as 3 undersized Mangos that went back too. It wasn't to busy and the winds were light with clear water. However, there was a definite absence of bait fish. No birds diving anywhere. I only saw one school of Pilchards swim by once and they never came back. No Thread fins anywhere. I was down to my last 3 shrimp and got a hit and started to reel in and to my surprise it was a 14.5" Mack! I was lucky he didn't bite me off. It will be dinner! Not the best day ever but I didn't get skunked. It always feels better driving out with at least something in the cooler.

Karneei:
Good Report. As You said, at least You did bot get Skunked. Macks are Good Eating if You Cook them Right. Once the Water Temperature cools down a bit in 1 to 2 months from now, Fishing will pick up as in Past Years. As for the Baitfish, they come and go like the Weather. But for Now, We have to rely on the Snapper & Mack Bite. As You will probably found out, the Fish are hanging around structure such as under the Pier & Bridges looking for Shade from the Heat. Best of Luck to You.
