If it was Me, I would Pick the 8000 because it has a Larger Spool. To Me, Fishing with 250 yards of 20lb. Test Line would be Strictly for Inshore. For Deep Sea, You will need a Heavier Line Starting at No Less than 30 Lb. Test to 40lb. Test Line. It Really Depends on What You will be Using it for & What Fish You may want to Target to Catch.

As for now I am strictly pier. I plan on getting a boat in a few years when I go back to work that is a totally different story. All I go for now is little snapper I want to get into being able to fish with the big boys and not facing the facing the piers. So I will go with the 8k and with 30 braid and 30 leader?

Just Remember with 20lb. Test Line that You can Cast Farther.
