I most often go to the NSP, but with the holiday weekend figured there'd be more space on the SSP. WRONG!!! I was lucky to get a spot at all. I actually showed up just before midnight, and the lane snapper were everywhere. Just not any big enough to keep. I probably caught 30 that were in the 6-7" range using squid on a size 2 circle hook with a 1oz weight. Switched to cut pinfish and immediately got a 9" mango. Back it goes. By morning the take included grunts, catfish, ladyfish, and absolutely no snappers of legal size. But at least my arms were tired...

Too bad no keeps but having action with that many people on the pier is actually a good night. I've been there packed and no action... for me have the fun is hook setting and reeling. Thanks for the report, maybe keepers next time.
