Thinking about running down to the SSP, Google live says it's PACKED. Can anyone confirm?

It probably is, last time I went on a weekend I couldn't even park. Never again will I even try.

You won't catch me withing 20 miles of any tourist destination during this week. It's a great time to spend at home, BBQ, drink beer and tell lies about fishing.

I avoid fishing the piers on weekends... long holiday 'weekend' will be a zoo. Stay away and enjoy the day with family and/or friends.

It is the 4th of July Week. Everyone should know that it is going to be Packed. Get there Early for a Front Row Seat.

D Oh you just click on the specific object on google maps, it estimates how many people are around that object based on cell phone with location services turned on.

I just did that on a few places and I don't see that data. I see reviews, nearby places, phone number, hours of operation, popular times but nothing about the number of people around it. Is there a setting?

Same here. I get reviews not actual numbers. I'm using am android phone though. Perhaps this is an app? The idea sounds interesting. However, how many people have their locator on?

Is there a setting? I go to maps.google.com. Look at the left on the pic here. It says popular times then Live is in red. So you just compare the red overlay on the graph with average people for that time of day. On the 2nd it said "Much more busy than normal" and had a red bar way above the blue bar.

I'm aware of that, but thought "popular times" was some kind of historic average. Thanks for the clarification and tip! D

You can check FDOT webcams here fl511.com/Check the box on right for cameras and zoom in for the skyway pier areas and pick a camera. You should get live pics like these. NSP SSP
