Hello all,
Got out Sunday morning, out going ride had nothing, storm by fort Desoto. But no rain at skyway, pushed bait and fish in. I caught small grunts , sandperch and lots of big greenbacks, thought I saw macs, but small.
Then a jerk using the boat dream weaver, kept running parallel, 25 ft off the pier. I yell at them and there response is get a boat. It took all my strength to not cast and snag his prop. The idiot was casting for greenbacks and after 25 minutes went by someone from the pier netted them a have them to him to get them out. He crossed a lot of lines.
The kid next to me saw the greenbacks and casted his love shrimp in hopes of a bite Obviously this did not happen and he say his pole down. Within a minute his rod was dancing, he grabbed it and the fight was on. After a few minutes he is dangling a small red grouper about 12" half way up the rail. I told him to reel and swing and there he was, holding what his father hinted at his first salt water fish. That was the highlight. Some snapper came over the rails, but nothing else of,note.
