Goin fishing on a 10 hr charter Saturday, working in new port richey. Anyone know any places up here where I can castnet some greenbacks/sardines from shore? I don't really want to drive to the skyway cuz I live in Tampa so I was thinking of trying Cortney Campbell or maybe anclote pier. I'm gonna try to brine. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

The Skyway Piers would be the only place that I know where You may Find a lot of Greenbacks & Sardines that could be easily Spotted and Accessible. Plus lately they have been very large for you to make Your Brine. Quantity & Abundancy would be the Key Words.

I haven't seen any greenbacks at the Courtney cambell bridge. I would go to skyway where I know they are at. Good luck👍🏼

for what its worth the bite has been off the chain on plain old Frozen Spanish Sardines at all of our spots. At least before the storm. The fish were actually prefering them over LIVE whitebait and Pinfish. Might wanna consider just spending the money youre burning in gas running around lookin for greenies on a couple boxes of good fresh/frozen locally caught (not the imports) Spanish Sardines, and brining those puppies up. Just sayin... rest up man! lol youre gonna be all wirn out for yer trip! good luck. fish on

The Dunedin Causeway may be an option as it south of Tarpon Springs or you might find some bait by the sponge docks in Tarpon Springs. We caught a bunch of pinfish at the Sand Key Park fishing piers today.

Skyjay is right with getting the frozen local sardines. You would be burning a lot of gas running all over the place looking for greenbacks/sardines. You can use that money to by the frozen bait or buy some tackle you need.

Bellair boat ramp should also be a good place to grab some baits. Some bridges hold Mojarra which is also good bait.

It only costs $ 2.00 to Park Your Vehicle & Fish. I was there for awhile this morning and all I caught was pin fish. That's a good place for bait. and the $2 is good for 24 hours. It has nice shaded parking too!
