Trying to gear up for a trip and just wanted to know which hooks are better for freeling bait? Circle hooks because they allow the bait to swim better and stay on the hook plus you won't get snagged that easily on the rocks. Best of luck 👍🏼

Better? I don't think there is an answer to that. But since you asked, my opinion is circle hooks for fish that tend to gulp a whole bait and swim off.(like free lining for grouper) I like long shank, light wire Aberdeen hooks ( also known as "J" hooks) for the ones that peck and nibble at a bait. For the ones that hit hard and run, like mackerel, trout, redfish, an octopus or aberdeen work well. Like all opinions, your mileage may vary.

Trying to gear up for a trip and just wanted to know which hooks are better for freeling bait? Circle Hooks are the Best for Grouper ! To Me, it is Easier to Hook a Fish & Easier to Remove from the Fish. No Jerking Required to set the Hook. All You have to do is Reel !

Aren't you suppose to use circle hooks if specifically targeting grouper? Or did I misunderstand that from somewhere?

Needle Nose Pliers are always the Best when used Correctly in Removing the Hook. Especially when You Accidentally Hook Yourself or Someone Else Hooks Yourself Accidentally.

Aren't you suppose to use circle hooks if specifically targeting grouper? Or did I misunderstand that from somewhere? The key word is Targeting. I asked FWC, and this is what they said: Ask FWC :: W061465-061217 FWC x Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission <fwc@mycusthelp.net> 2:29 PM (9 hours ago) to me --- Please respond above this line --- Good day Michael, You only need to use circle hooks when targeting reef fish in general. If you are targeting reef fish from a pier/land then you will be required to use circle hooks. Thanks, Justin Wallheiser 850-617-9623 Create Date: 6/12/2017 12:02:29 PM Reference # W061465-061217 Customer: Michael Davis Category: Fishing, Saltwater Fish & Marine Organisms Description: Are circle hooks required if fishing from the Skyway Pier? Is land based fishing exempt from the circle hook requirement for reef fish? Thank you, Michael Davis.

She told Me that She did not need any Instructions on Casting. I Disagree !
