The snapper are out there and chewing guys. My wife and I were 3 shy of a 2 man limit.. The fishing is hot right now. It'll only get better as the summer goes on.
Fishing wasn't the only action out there today. Apparently some guy hit a few cars on the bridge and then pulled a gun on some people... At least that's the story. About 9 different cop cars drove by us heading towards the end of the bridge. I'm not sure if they got the guy or if he drove off. I didn't bother to ask. Was too busy fishing...

I went to the SSP Thursday from 3:30pm til 8:30pm. Couldnt manage a bite but saw a couple gags come over the rail on diving plugs, a few fat Spanny Macks caught on freelined live bait, and a snook on freelined live bait as well.
Bait was easy to get (sabiki'ed threads, greenies, and pinfish). The wind and current were too much, I couldnt get freelined bait out to the rickpiles, and was having a hard time casting cut bait even with 3oz lead. Trying under the span(s) was an exercise in futility, the current either took my bait too far too fast, or I got snagged up. Blech.
I planned on staying to fish the incoming til about 2am, but after 5 hours of nothing I got fed up and went home.
It was my first time at the pier in over 5 years...after hearing about the robbery at the end of the pier 5 minutes after it happened, I doubt Ill go back any time soon...

I think all the McDonalds dinnerware is to put it out there to would-be pier robbers that, "We ain't got no money! We only got fish!" Lol.

Best thing about driving down instead of flying, besides hauling all my gear, was glock in the glovebox. Little bit surprised no proper Florida rednecks put a stop to that.

Don't blame him for having one, but unlike residents, visitors may not transport, buy, sell, or possess a handgun, unless they have a carry permit.

There are several good sites for State to State reciprocity when it comes to carry. If you are a gun owner you should familiarize yourself with which states recognize your permit/license to carry. Also worth noting is that some states are "must notify" and some are not. Meaning if you get pulled over you must notify the officer(s) that you are carrying as soon as it is reasonable. As for open carry... whole 'nother bag of worms. I will open carry in my state but I'm not looking to get jammed up in some other state trying to exercise controversial rights. Pass. PA and FL are friends, so y'all can bring your guns up here when you visit. Side fact, FL requires classroom which makes it one of the big three to get when you want to carry in all the states. So if you already put your classroom in, good on you.
