Took her out 50 miles today, by the time we got to 90 feet the transducer bracket broke.. SO we fished blind for a few hours in absolutely flat georgous blue water. Porpois, turtles and sand perch around. After farting around without bottom reading we headed in did a bit of trolling here and there .. at about 15 miles out we got a knock down on a 4 inch drone spoon on a planer #30, turned out to be a 25 inch gag... SO the day wasn't a total loss. Now i gotta get my trailer up to port richey and pull the boat out to put a new transducer on... Always something.

Sorry to hear that. My friend bottom machine doesn't quite work... So we just use the GPS and when we get to the spot, we drift around a bit until we find good fish then we anchor up.

if you want to do work on her... without trailering it too far you can bring her to my place in Tarpon Springs don't just screw on a new bracket spend a bit of extra time Blind drill out the holes for the transducer screws use a drill at least 2-3 times the diameter of the screw thread fill the hole back up with a thickened epoxy, use fumed silica or ground fiberglass mat as a thickening agent when the epoxy dries pre-drill the holes the correct size for the screws and attach the bracket you never have to worry about it leaking into the transom. No sealer required either buy a pint or quart of epoxy + fumed silica from Fiberglass Coatings Inc Largo 44th st and US19 keep the remainder epoxy on hand for other jobs you will use it! fgci.commy transom rotted out cause holes for the transducer and speed sensor leaked!

Yup... you know what they say a boat is a hole in the water you keep throwing money into. Helps if you can do a lot of work yourself www.greatgrady.com/forum/index.php , probably find a few ideas on how to do stuff and save some bucks also a lot of how to videos on Utube on fixing stuff finding good used parts is now much easier thanks to Ebay / Craig's List I found a good used power steering cylinder for $65.00 shipped, compared to $400 they wanted for new
