Firebuck:Welcome to the Forum. Freeline a Pinfish out by the Rock Piles in the Gulf by the SS & NS Piers on the Out Going Tide. You can also Fish Under the Old Bridge next to the SS Pier on the Incoming Tide. There are a couple of places where the Old Bridge on the SS Pier that has been Removed where You can Fish out Farther by the Old Section on the Incoming Tide. You can find a Map of the Rock Piles up in the "Sticky - Pier Rockpile pics (aerial view)" Section

8-10ft medium heavy spinning or conventional rod and reel, 30lb line on conventional, 20lb on spinning. 60lb leader on conventional, 30 or 40lb on spinning. Hook pinfish through the nose or belly and freeline them with the curry current on a 3/0 or 4/0 barbless circle hook. A little known trick out there is that Plugs and jigs work for grouper also. Mann's stretch diving plugs that get to at least 12ft+ are the best. Bucktail jigs weighing 2oz or 3oz in red/white with a belly strip of another fish (preferably mackerel, bluefish, blue runner or another oily fish) work well. Squid strips and curl tail grubs work too. The bridges aren't more than 25ft deep at the deepest points. You just have to know how to fish them and where to throw them.

Yes, the Mann's Deep Diving Plugs works.
