Got there just after Dawn. No Wind & the Water was very Calm with a few Grass Clumps moving with the Tide. Plenty of Sun. I caught 2 Nice Size Pinfish & 1 Medium Size Crab on a Sabiki with Squid after 2 hours of Fishing with the Sabiki while waiting for a Trout to Bite on My other Rod. It was rather Funny about the Crab. When I pulled the line up the Crab refused to let go of the Squid. He finally fell off the Squid & then the Crab walked over to Me & raised his claw to shake My Hand. LMAO ! My Girlfriend said, "Now that is cute. He wants to meet the Mackerelman". I grabbed him by his claw & shook his claw and back in the water He went. No Trout to be Found Fishing with Medium Size Shrimp under a Popping Cork. After 3 Hours I Tossed in the Towel after My Girlfriend Hooked one of My Rods while Casting. No One around Me caught anything but Her. She quickly caught My Attention. Me Her One Guy got upset because I threw back the Pinfish each Time. He must have been Real Hungry for the Pinfish. Not Much Biting at this time. I'm still looking forward to the Next Time I go. Good Luck to All on Your Fishing Adventures where ever You Fish.

mackerelman: Thanks for the report, glad your rod wasn't damaged or pulled into the water. LOL. I have not fished the Dunedin Causeway yet. Will give Clearwater Pass another go tomorrow a.m.

Thanks for the report Mackerelman. That wsa funny with what happened with the crab. Glad you did not lose your fishing rod. Yeah, the Crab was the Highlight of the Day. That made Me Laugh. As for the Rod & Reel, that would be $ 300.00 that I would have to swim for.

MM: That guy who was upset at you throwing back pin fish would have been furious with me as I tossed back at least a dozen today. My full report will added to my first Clearwater report of the 19th.

Surprised there are any fish there at all. Last time I went, a family of like 40 people moved in and kept everything they caught and threw them into 5 gallon buckets. Was surprised that they threw back the undersized mangos.
I too got a lot of glares for throwing back my pig and pinfish. 😃

My other problem there is there are no bathrooms. for the 'ole seabird, that's important.

If you want to fish Dunedin I will tell you more if you want. 3 days ago my 12 year old caught a 14 inch gag on his first cast off the causeway. After a photo and release it was all grunts, pins, undersized mangos, tilefish, and a pufferfish lol. We do run into juvenile grouper(red and gag) there a lot. Legal size fish we keep occasionally are mangos, sheephead, mackerel. Fun place when I have the kids but I usually fish Honeymoon. Plenty of yellowmouth trout out there easily caught wading with a 1/4 oz jighead and berkely gulps this time of year

This week three trout over 20. 3 snook landed on other spit the hook ten feet away and nice size black tip. Maybe we can meet up one of these days. Heading to honey moon Sunday am.

I have not seriously tried the Dunedin Causeway. Guess I should check it out as I have been exploring and testing other places as options versus the erratic Skyway.
