Everyone here I am sure knows about the effectivness of gotcha plugs here if used properly, eh? The origional "gotcha" brand typically runs you between $5-6 depending on what store selling them has a higher margin. The "Tsunami" brand found at your local walmart store supplies these "off brands" for around $3.50 a pop. I have given these ones a try and have been pretty darn disappointed in the hook strength. Down at my local pier all it takes is a small ladyfish smack to bend the fragile golden hooks that were provided on this otherwise AMAZING lure. After emailing the company to criticize their poor choice in hooks (yet smart move to make $ wise) with no response I have taken a more advanced route here. Changing your hooks (and sizes!) in these gold mines is really your best shot between landing a big mack/kingfish/jack or anything with size. There have been dozens of times where I get a big slam on a gotcha only to reel in and see my hooks are mangled and my $5 lure ends up in the trash. Here I have provided a link to any of you fellow gotcha slingers out there who have had similar issues. I just changed out 3 gotchas in under 15 minutes. I hope this is helpful! youtu.be/Arn97ZkP_Tg
