Well I reported on 7-23 about my SP trip and loaded up on pins.Went to the Manatee river this morning and managed to hook 3 of these but only landed this one. They aint pretty and they don`t eat well but I gotta tell you these fish are bruisers and a lot of fun to catch. This one was close to 40 inches. The other 2 I couldn`t land were much bigger. The net is 28". -Alligator Gar-

Nice job, those guys are hard as hell to hook. And they smell like ass! I would never thought to eat one.

Thanks man,the river is full of these things and they are big.I wouldn`t eat one,but some people do. They are a b#tch to hook but are a great fight. Not to fun unhooking em either.Freelining pinfish works great right around dawn for these bruisers. Will prolly try again in the mornin`,got 7 pinfish left.6/0 circle hooks, about a 40% hookup rate.

Nice job, those guys are hard as hell to hook. And they smell like ass! I would never thought to eat one. Its against the law as 2006 to posess an alligator gar. Special permits are granted to the scientific community. Just a lil fyi from a friendly angler. Tight lines
