We got there a little after 4. Caught 4 Macks between 530 and 700. The whole time we were there we probably caught around 50 greenies. All in all we caught a few baby seabass, a lot of sailcats some were monsters, some atlantic sharpnose sharks, macks and probably about 20 of this weird tube like fish that looks like it belongs to the jack family. My 9 year old son caught 3 shark last night...he was really excited because he never caught one before!

Sounds like a fun trip. Describe the weird tube like fish. First guess is a lizardfish

We have caught several lizard fish before so knew it wasnt that. This was silver about 6 to 7 inches. Only hit on sabiki. Had a yellow tail. also had the two white points on the stomach by the fins and very small line of black dots going down the side. The mouth kinda of resmebled that have a bass.

I was there on Saturday and Sunday... did pretty well. I wasn't going after macks though. I'll post a report in a couple of days... or you can pm me for a quick report.

Sounds like "cigar minnows" since they are hitting sabiki's.. They look like a mix between a blue runner and mackerel

I think that is exactly what they are! Do they make good bait?

To early for snapper imo macks are more of a day time fish wait till early morning. Trout should be good right now. Dont go to deep 1oz weight above a swivel with about 2 feet of mono leader and a live minnow hook I think is size 2 but its smaller. I don't really understand hook size number logic.so don't get the big number 2s
