Fished all day from 4am until sunset (5:45pm) and had 30 pilchards, 3 dozen shrimp, 15# fluorocarbon leader, and only got 2 BITES the entire day! I landed one of the two bites (16" speckled trout) but it was the first time I've ever fished all day and had so few bites/strikes.
I'm a regular and know how to slaughter the fish -- I didn't do anything different this trip. I had 2 poles, constantly with a live pilchard or shrimp with light tackle and changed spots often. Still I had the lowest amount of fish activity ever recorded for a full day of fishing on the grass flats near the north skyway pier.
I hope the March mackerel will not be late this year!

Mousetrap.....admire your dedication. I was on SSP from 830 till 1150; big ol' goose egg. I could see the sheepheads picking on the pylons. I threw all forms of bait, nothing. Probably head out Sunday to do another round of battle, good luck all.
