Arrived at 3:00 pm. Wind was a good 20 mph and seas 2-3 ft. Caught a bunch of very large greenbacks and plenty of pins. Worked the shallows with assorted artificials and some cut shrimp looking for anything and waiting for the outgoing tide around 6 PM. Then went to a few of my favorite numbers and soaked some pins and greenbacks with the wind still blowing like crazy. Freelining was out of the question with the wind. Then the wind started dying down around 8 PM but the thunderstorms started and I got tired of getting in and out of the car and packed it up around 10 PM. Pier was getting really crowded by that time anyway and Flipper was on the prowl.
Boo Hoo ...til next time.
PS: Saw nothing caught anywhere

Thanks John, Gives me lots of confidence for today.. NOT Sorry Bill, but the wind should be better today around 11 MPH, which you'll be glad to have to help with the heat. I can't imagine what the crowd will be like. Everyday is different as I am sure you know. Anyway...Good Luck and let us know how you did.

When I'm not fishing dolphins are know as flipper...when I'm fishing they are not the nice flipper...they are the evil flipper... I call him Zipper, they have a pirate patch and a scar over their eye...and a shank

No offense to any PETA members on this thread but man I just pray every time I see them that a massive bull shark comes up and devours every bait-stealing dolphin from here to Boca Grande pass! /rant

2 bites is a really slow day at the pier as most the regulars would tell you. Its really a shame the old forum is dead and most of out old school guys are gone. Save all the info you can. It just wont come about again
