Arrived around 8:30 a.m., light breeze, nice temps, plenty of bait on the a mild outgoing tide.
Using 1/0 circle hooks on 25# leader, cut greenbacks cast just short of the rocks....and a fat 10" Mangrove, about an hour later wife has one on, thinks it's a grouper because of the hit and fight and we put a 16 1/2" mangrove snapper to add to the cooler!
Caught and released some shorty gags, had a few fierce hits and break offs, likely the bigger brothers, a few puffers, and then the bite kind of slowed a lot as the tide really slowed. Reminds me we were out there two weeks ago and the guys next to us hook up and bring in a 30 inch gag, biggest I've seen caught out there. To their credit, they took pics and sadly put him back in for another day.
So we called it a day at noon, just finished some snapper tacos!
