Got bored and decided to go to the pier. Hit the north pier sat around 10 pm. Nothing much going on. used salted shrimp and cut mullet for bait. Around 3 am, the silver trout turned on. Lots of 12 to 14 inch trout out there. Fish as light as you can and inbetween rock piles. Fish finder rig on 40 lb braid and 20 lb fluro leader 1 oz egg sinker. Just chuck it out there and slowly drag it in. Must have caught 40 silvers from 3 am to 6 . then headed home. mild crowd. Bit breezy. but fishes are biting.

Thx for the report - anything else biting? Sheepshead? Mangrove snapper? Macks?

Funny thing. For all the times I've fished the pier, I have never caught a trout yet. Can't explain that because I've fished every which way and caught many different species, but no trout! Maybe I will have to try tonight.

Middle of the night 3am peak high or low tides i have done well. Usually right after a front, or before. I like the north pier at the end or behind the baitshop. if you want a speck, which i believe are out of season now. High slack tide Fishing to the eastern side span.. Light line and live greenies fished with 1/2 oz egg sinker 36 inches of leader 20 lb fluro. Specks, and mangos fall for it alot of the time. Silver trout seem to like dead bait. but its allways in the wee hours of the morning.

Did you keep any of the silvers? If'n you know where to look, there should be some nice flounder in the area as well.
