Went out on a choppy ride sunday, seas i guess 3 to 5ft.. some bigger swells. winds about a steady 20 all day. Well 8am we pull on out of the spongedocks in Tarpon springs. On the Two Georges.
A bit chilly in the morning but we get lucky and picked the calm side of the boat. Had fun chatting with the fellow anglers till we get to the first spot...
This is the first time i used live bait. I usually use stinky cut bait. But about halfway through this day i finally decided to try a pinfish. Since we had about 40 between Allison and i , we didn't want to waste em. so after about the 3rd stop i fire down a lively pinner... few seconds later i am bowed up... Yea baby..
Now lets see if this one stays connected... Well thanks to Yozuri Hd Flourocarbon.. no chance for the fish.. up he comes and over the rail.... Awsome.. nice 23-24 inch Gag.
Check my leader looks good.. Fire down another pinner.. few minutes later.. Rocked up.. Damn.... So i wait.. fish lets go... get my rig back..
Check it over, yea lets retie a new leader. Fire down another pinner.. Boom fish on.... Leader holds.. another Gag... bout same size as the first one about 20 mins ago. so i let it go, hoping to get a bigger one. Allison then strikes a home run, and gets her one about 23.
Retie again just to be safe, drop a big pigfish/grass grunt down...
Boom another fish, and he stays connected.. biggest fish of the day about 25-26 inches...
Glad i was in the pool.
Well rest of the day fly's by, lots of hits but no more love.
get to the docks i'm excited about my fish being a possible winner.. i think there were almost 40 people in the pool at 5 bucks a pop...
well i took 2nd place.. waaaaa... oh wait theres money in second... awsome, i got my trip money back plus some.
Had a blast again. heres some pics.
Each fish had a pinner in there belly. This one greedy fellow had a 9 inch whitting and a big seahorse in his belly.
