Hello all! I am new here and need some help. I have my second trip to the pier planned for the 13th. However, I have a little problem. The last time I went(didn't catch anything worth having) I hooked into a few nice sting rays and could get them over the edge of the pier. I have ordered a drop net from cabelas, but it wont be here for close to another 2 weeks. So how long does my net need to be. I am going to walmart to buy it as soon as I figure out what size I need. Thanks everyone

I'd do about 25'. That way you can drop it below the water surface to get under a fish. Also, unless the frame for your net is really heavy you will probably want to attach a few ounces of weight to the bottom of the net to keep it more stable in the water when you drop it in.
Sometimes a net works good but for the really toothy critters a pier gaff is better. Good luck.
