Red Snapper season OPENS June 1 through July 18 in Federal waters only (16" minimum, 2 per person per day)
Gag Grouper season CLOSES June 1st in state waters (reopens Sept. 16 through Nov. 15 in state and federal waters)
Greater Amberjack season CLOSES June 1 through July 31 in State and Federal waters
Black Sea Bass reopens June 1st in federal waters of the South Atlantic
Snook is on schedule to reopen September 1st, but we will have to wait and see if that actually happens.
Bay Scallop: The 2011 recreational harvest season for bay scallops will be from June 25 through Sept. 25. Bay scallop harvest is only permitted from the Pasco-Hernando County line to the west bank of the Mexico Beach Canal in Bay County.

This is absolutely...I guess bullsh*t would be the word I really want to use. I finally went out a few weeks ago and caught a keeper grouper and talked my friend with a boat to going out and trolling for them..now we can't even keep them! I don't know about the rest of you guys but I'm with skyjay. We have put up with their overprotective regulations long enough. It's hard enough to get a keeper grouper out of the rocks at the skyway but this is just crossing the line.
