Well here I go again. If all goes as planned I will be on the NSP shortly after midnight tomorrow night for some Monday fishing. Hope I do a little better. But come what may I'd rather be out on that pier than sitting at home anytime. Except maybe at dinner time. The wife is a pretty good cook. Does a good job on fish too. So there I go answered my own question. White F150, Navy plate & Pier Rat decal in the window if I can remember to put it there. Oh yeah! My old faithful Navy ballcap if the wind isn't blowing to hard. Here fishy, fishy, fishy. Tight lines and full coolers to all you pier rats and your familys & friends or girlfriends or whatever. riverviewsteve USN, Retired and loving it.

Thanks Blacktip You know I just happened to think. The other day the guy right down from me had two wriggley things on at the same time. So I walked over and asked him if those were eels he had just caught and he said no they were needlefish. I have seen plenty of them at times but have never caught one or seen one caught. Have you ever caught one? riverviewsteve

needlefish are worse than pinfish at eating your shrimp. Catch them alot on the beach. they will chase a shrimp under a cork all the way into the beach. Once caught they are hard to keep alive. Watch out for those teeth, they are nasty and can cause a bad infection.

Got to the NSP around 1:45 and got set up. There were quite a few people still there. I was surprised there were that many still there. First sabiki I dropped in the water I got about a 4pound bluefish almost immediately on squid no less. I says to my self it's gonna be a good day. Anyway the baitshop guy comes running over and says he wants to trade me two Mangos for that bluefish so he can fish for sharks. I never did see him put it in the water. I guess he put it in the tank till he got off work. Or his next night shift the next morning. After that I saw very little. Greenbacks were fairly available from the bottom with sabikis. I seen one guy catching palometos I beleive they were 4 at a time on his sabiki. I caught several fair size grunts and pin fish. The one thing that was plentiful was them love bug. I walked in the mens room and they were solid on the floor. Mostly from the day before I understand. Was sure glad the workman cleaned them up when he got there. I bet that was a nasty job. Today wasn't to bad on the pier itself. The wind kept them down pretty good. They were lying all over the pier though. Especially next to the buildings in the shade. So I went home with two mangos. riverviewsteve May possibly go out again May 5th early am. Not firm yet. Keeping my fingers crossed.

havetofish that's what I said. What is a palometa? When I looked it up in my book that was the closest picture I could find. Apparently I got it right they looked like the picture on the site eaglesfanguy posted. riverviewsteve
