Figured I was pushing my luck after seeing todays weird tides but went out there anyway,,, got there about 9am for a very slow incoming.
Nothing but junk on the sabiki all day,,,, sent out cut greenbacks & live pinners, shrimp, squid, gotchas & every jig, spoon & artificial in my tackle box and caught exactly 1 mac at about 2pm. Called it quits and went home in a sulk.
Saw some big tarpon and a huge cobia right next to the pier,,, flipper was out in force as well.
Also saw some jerk next to me pull up a short gag (looked to be about 14") and it went straight in his cooler,,,, but saw nothing else come over the rail the whole 5 hours I was there.
Still,, at least I was fishin'

I am one the the guys that catch and release. I normally put back what I catch. very very seldom to I keep anything. just enjoy catching. I caught a nive gag once and lowered it back in and the guy next to me cussed me out for 20 minutes saying if I was going to put it back I should have given it to him. About 20 minutes later he caught a 14 inch gag I told him it was to small and he put it in his cooler. About that time a FWC guy walks up to him and writes him a ticket and said you might have gotten away with it if you would have kept your big mouth shut but I heard you over here cussing and was wanting to see what it was about when you caught that fish. He took his ticket got mad and left. By the way fish was still alive and I helped the FWC guy lower back in the water. so the guy had nothing to take home.
