Has anyone had much success with artificial crab lures from Gulp, Yum, etc?
I'm sure live or frozen is better in most cases but I'm interested in hearing how successful or otherwise you guys have been with artificials.

I use the Gulp 2" peeler crab(natural color) all the time on the flats. Add some crab scented Carolina Lunker Sauce. Excellent for catching reds.

I use a Owner Mutu Light Circle #2/0 tied to 3 foot of 20lb fluorocarbon leader. Hook the crab on the side from underneath. Lift your rod then lower it then reel once and repeat. Hope this helps!

one had some nasty large chunks taken with somce nice big teeth gashes.
had mine rigged with an owner needle point 3/0 on a 18" steel leader.
I have also had decent luck with gulp shrimp as well catching some trout in the past...got some hits on em yesterday, but didnt pull anything up on em.

i gota nice cobia with a rip tide crab on a 1/4 oz jighead a few years ago, but it was foul hooked in the gill. i threw it too close to his head and it got snagged. i don't think that counts.
