Took a trip out with my 10 year old son,,, got there wayyy late,, about 1pm for the end of the incoming. Forecast was for 15 mph winds but it wasn't even half of that. Set up close to the 2nd bathroom,,,, Sabiki'd up some pinners and sent them out,,,, no Grouper but a nice little Sharpnose Shark which my kid got a huge kick out of. Bait was plentiful around the pilings,,, on the sabikis we caught some Ladyfish, young Reds and other assorted junk fish. Pulled a dozen or so Macks,,, none of them very big,,, am I just unlucky or do they seem smaller on average this year? The outgoing was swift and full of flotsam,,,,the bite turned-off for us about 5pm,, so we packed up and left. No grouper Dinner,, but I'm not sure I was even on a rockpile. Wonderful day fishing nonetheless,,, can't wait for the east span to come down,,, get a crack at those other rockpiles again!

I was also out on the ssp on the 3rd. My wife and I took home 11 macks. Threw back close to 10 more that were too small. Caught a ton of blue runners and other assorted junk. Weather was great, fishing was fun. Caught most on sabiki and the rest on cut bait under a float. Lots of people fishing for kings but none had any luck while I was out there. Saw 3 short grouper caught and was surprised to see people actually release them! Usually people keep them so that was great to see. I will be out again this week, so I will keep yall posted!
