Hey Steve. We're back with the living, up in Orlando for a spring break trip to Disney with the family until Thursday morning. I'd love to be able to get to the Skyway on Friday. We've pushed through the latest episode with the health issues. Hoping to be able to see you on Friday.

David if at all possible I am going to try to make it. I will post it as soon as I know for sure. The weather through Wed is terrible but I'm hoping it will lighten up by Thursday night. The chance of rain is less so I'm hoping. I'm keeping my fingers crossed. Steve

I'll be there, but on the SSP for the outgoing tide. Want that keeper grouper on opening day.

havetofish good luck with the Grouper. I've never caught a keeper in all the years I been fishing out there. Doesn't keep me from trying though. DavidfromNC I just checked the weather and at the skyway zipcode the rain percent has dropped to 10%. It was 40% earlier in the week. It's predicting about 15mph winds. Hope that drops down some to. riverviewsteve

Hi Steve. I'm still shooting for Friday, too and like yourself hope the weather cooperates. Everything I see looks like this soup should be cleared out by then. We'll stay in touch.

David it's looking better all the time. I just checked the 36 Hour breakdown and it says the winds should be down to 10 by the time I get there then 8 and 6 later in the morning. Low of 60 and a sunny day with no % of rain. We looking good. My truck is loaded already with everything except my fishing poles, my coffee cup and my cooler. Go Go Go I am ready man. Sure looking forward to it but then again I always look forward to it. I just love being out there. David I don't expect any problems but check the site tomorrow evening just in case. I expect to be there by 4am or so. So I'll put up a couple extra rod holders and save you a space. See you Friday I hope. Riverviewsteve

David I got out there about 3am. Not much doing of anything till late morning then we started to catch a few macks. I went home with 4 macks. Didn't see any silver trout at all. About half of all the macks I seen caught went back. Sabiki's were again the weapon of choice today. I think I got 9 altogether but 5 went back. I think my bigest was around 17". The wind was a lot stronger than the weather report and the water had a lot of seaweed and stuff. I was going to make a post last evening but one heck of a storm hit our apartment complex and trees and limbs down all over the place. Some one said the wind was only 1mile short of being hurricane force. My wife had to go to therapy at 9am thursday then we stopped at Golden Corral and all hell broke loose. That's when it hit our place. Anyway I'm planning on being out there again tuesday morning if all goes well. I'll try to keep it updated. riverviewsteve

Well Steve, at least you didn't get skunked. The storm tore up my place pretty good. Tree limbs and debris from the Oak trees took me almost all day to clean up, so that screwed my SSP trip. I was seriously considering not going anyway cause I was watching the winds and 15-20 out of the west is not exactly ideal to try and freeline a pin in to. Good luck on Tuesday.

havetofish you are right about that. A tornado hit the apartment complex were in. I think it damaged one building a little bit but the trees and limbs were down everywhere. I really wasn't sure I was going cause my wife has heart problems and I didn't want to leave her alone especially without airconditioning. The power was off about 16 hours and it didn't come back on to stay till 1:20am. When it stayed on I decided to go. What a mess. I had a hell of a time just getting out of the complex. Had a good time though. I checked the local weather at that zip code and it said 6mph. Wrong. I don't know how high it was and it did finally slow down but not till around noon. I doubt seriously if you could have freelined a pin. There was a young boy next to me was having the time of his life. He caught three or four huge catfish, one of them brown rays that swim around the pier and about three times more mack. What am I doing wrong? Is it my smile? He had to throw back a lot of macks to though. One time he got 4 on his sabiki and only one keeper that time. Between him and his father they probably got around 20. When I left they hadn't reached there limit yet if they did. I did not see one grouper. So much for opening day. Course if you can't freeline that about tells the story. I didn't see a lot of bait either. I think I caught 6 pins and 2 greenbacks the hold day. It didn't look like the netters were doing very well either. Sure hope tuesday is better. Hope the wife isn't still mad at me. I forgot my suntan lotion and boy did I pay for that mistake. My hands and face are showing me the error of my ways. That navy ball cap doesn't protect much. Need to wear my australian bush hat. Ha Ha. Catch you later. I'll report if I do get out there. Gee I hope it's not windy. Oh I forgot. That kid caught one of them cormorants too. Nothing like rounding it off. At least he had fun. riverviewsteve
