I had a few questions about targeting these two species. Of course, the location would be the Skyway piers.
What months are the best to target these two species? What are the typical times and tides best to look for each? What rigs should I use for each from the pier? What regulations are on Bonita? What other inshore locations can I find these two species?

Let me try....
What months are the best to target these two species? Mar 15th to May 15th and Oct 1 to Thanksgiving. These dates are what I have been using for the past ten years. Seems Mar 15 is when the water stays above 70 degrees until May when it hit mid 80'3. Reverse the same in the fall.
What are the typical times and tides best to look for each?
I like 90 minutes before to 90 minutes after the tide change.. If happening near sunrise all the better
What rigs should I use for each from the pier? Many options here. Gotcha plugs work great. Free line green back or under a float. All work well. Gotcha plugs become expensive with all the bite offs. You can make your own with a McDonald straw. Google Mcdonald straw fishing lure.
What regulations are on Bonita? None that I know of but not good table fare. Great bait for sharks
What other inshore locations can I find these two species? All the passes and off the beach near a pass.
Hope that helps. FISH ON and Tight Lines
