Took a trip out to the SSP with the wife, kids & bro-in-law today,,, got there about 2pm,,, stayed 'til 8.30pm ,,, place was busy but not too packed,, set up shop around piling 79.
Seems like everyone around us was fishing for Macs with gotchas & sabikis. We caught a couple of 14" macs on Mustad #8 sabikis but I think the Macs had long finished for the day by the time we arrived.
Bait was plentiful,,, loads of little-medium pinners and the occasional Sardine. Soaked a few pinfish over the reef and got rocked twice for my troubles.
Other than 2 macs and 100+ pinfish/junkfish,,, all we caught was a fairly big Sailcat and a 15lb or-so Ray that put up a great fight.
No grouper dinner but I really wasn't expecting one,, and more importantly a great day with the family.

Good report for a fairly quiet afternoon, but at least you got to share it with family . Glad to hear bait starting to show up other than the pinners. Tides forecast for the 27th wasn't all that good with it being basicly a one tide day.
I wonder if tomorrow , with the 30 % expected rain showers will bring more bait into the bay, and whether the macks will be on the chew .
