What' up! I am going to go fishing thursday late afternoon around 5pm. Any ideas on where I can go? I just go a new Heavy action rod for xmas that I want to try out maybe large shark. I was thinking gandy/pier/ft desoto. Let me know what you are catching and where.
Thank you in advance and like always keep your lines tight!
I'm livin the Highlife!

Its still to cold for shark fishing IMO. BUt if you want to get your rod bent, head out to skyway and soak a chunk of bait for some grouper. Just make sure you wait a few days after the cold fronts.

freeline live pinfish with the current out on the rockpiles for some grouper before the season is closed. Gandy is closed. Fort desoto may be good for reds and trout but require waders or a kayak. they are all around the grass in the hottest parts of the day

put away the heavy rod till april. buy a $6 alluminum pole from lowes thats like 10' and if the pier is still open go out there and scrape some pilings. Bring oysters or rock crabs from the cortney cambell at low tide and bring your self back a haul of convicts

I guess I will have to wait until April to attempt to catch a good size shark. I will just have to grab another pole and head out. Maybe use crabs or live greenies. Anyone fish the flats at Macdill? Any good catches out there?
