To the best of my recollection this was probably the first big fish I ever caught. Maybe the first. I wasn't very old. My grandfather had taken me fishing in a creek up in Indiana. We were standing at the bottom of a slope when I caught this big carp. I immediately turned around and ran up the slope and dragged that fish right up on the bank. My grandfather like to had a fit. That ain't no way to catch a fish he says but he was laughing all the time. Several years later my two brothers were fishing in a pay pond not to far from that creek and had been there all night and only had this big carp. Early the next morning this dandy dressed in a fancy suit shows up and wants to know if anybody has any fish for sale. My brother says I got a carp. The dandy says I'll give you $5.00 for it. OK my brother says. So this guy takes that carp and wipes it all over his suit and tie and gets mud on his shoes and my brother asks. Do you mind telling me what your doing. The dandy says my wife thinks I been fishing all night. My brother says and you expect her to beleive it dressed like that. The dandy says she'll beleive anything I tell her. Rightttttttttttttt riverviewsteve USN RETIRED and loving it. NEXT
