I'm going to try hard and get out friday to the NSP. Sure hope so anyway. It looks like it will be a great day. If all goes well I should be there around 6am or there abouts. If I'm there I will be driving a white 4door F150 with a Navy license plate. Will try to remember to put my pierrat logo in the window and I'll be wearing my Navy ball cap. If I can't make it I'll try to post it so you won't be looking for nothing if your there. Keep on fishing and full coolers. riverviewsteve USN, RETIRED

Well come 4am I grabbed my coffee cup and headed for the pier just as planned. It was a beautiful day out there. Most of it with no wind. The report I saw said 10 to 12 knot winds but they didn't come around till around noon then it started to build a little. Now for the fishing. One very small silver trout and a few pins. Very few. All went back. Got to rap with Scooter awhile when he was catching his bait. He said he needed 150 for his order I think he said. 4 traps in the water about 20 minutes and he must have at least a hundred in each. Must have been brothers and sisters all the same size. About 1 1/2". Other than that had a great time at skyway. Wasn't to crowded either. Had my choice of parking spaces. SkyJay I gave Big Mike your message. I didn't see hardly anything caught and what I did see was all pinfish. Not one grouper. The baithouse guy did catch one little small croaker I think. Even at that I think it was probably bigger than my trout Ha! Two older gentlemen next to me did catch one of them diving ducks or whatever they are called. One of them had a nice net so we got it up on the pier and I told them watch his beak or you'll be sorry. That was a fiesty sucker. Anyway I got a rag and covered it's head and held it while they untangled it and got the hook out. I know they hurt when they bite. Unfortunately for me the first time I tried to throw a rag on one I missed but he didn't. Golly that hurt. Can't beleive it hurt so bad and didn't even break the skin. Wow! Well I could go on all day but since I'm a guy of few words I'll cease for now. Righttttttttttttttttttttttt riverviewsteve USN, RETIRED and loving it.

lol, gotta watch them cormorants. Pelicans and gulls are no big deal. But a cormorant, is a penguin. there stabbers. I'd have loved to watch that unfold

eaglesfanguy ain't that the truth. I had the occasion to catch two of them things in one week before they closed the other side of the Skyway and as I remember the first one came loose before we got it on the pier. One week later I caught another one or maybe the same one could have been I guess. Anyway when I tried to throw a rag on his head I missed and he didn't. Like you said it looked like he stabbed me. Felt like it to. It didn't break the skin but I am here to tell you that hurt like -----. It's hard to beleive something that hurt that bad didn't bring blood but it didn't. I had a sore finger for awhile though. When those fellows next to me last week caught that one I figured they probably hadn't experienced them before. I was right. When they saw how vicious that thing was they were glad to have help. Funny thing is when you get the rag over his head it quiets right down. When your ready to let it go though you better keep your hands clear that's for sure. riverviewsteve USN, RETIRED and loving it. Oh thanks for telling me what that thing is called. Devil bird sounds better. Aggravating things sometimes. Tight Lines buddy.
