Hit the SSP at pylon 124 at 8am for the outgoing. Plenty of Greenbacks & Pinfish to be had on the sabiki Landed a nice 22" Gag about 10am on a small pinfish,,, Wife caught her first Ray using squid ,, kids caught junk fish all day and still loved it. Saw a few macks coming over the rail but I couldn't land one,,, lost 2 gotcha's as well. Flipper was taking the cake after noon-ish,,,, as fast as I was casting pinfish,, they were taking them,,,I gave up at 2pm,, still a great day out though,, except for the bathrooms. Yarg.

You're right about the baitfish. I prefer the sabiki over a castnet due to limited ability to throw a good net. Consider either using a higher pound test for the spanish macks, or go to a wire leader / longer hook shank .
In regard to "flipper" , I'd just move a dozen or more pylons down the pier.
My kids , now about 25 , still rmemeber fishing the SkyWay, and the fun they had. Just keep comming back !!

I fished the SSP Sunday as well...met Rich (fishonfishoff) near the end of the pier about 9am...fished til about 2pm, all we got was some short gags, Rich and I both caught a keeper Mango, and other than a couple of rock-ups, nothin else.

Juck
Are you using a 'countdown method' ?
If you countdown at 9 count and are hitting bottom , countdown to 7 and begin your retrieve, that way you are cruising just above the bottom . There is a lot of junk down there , which includes old lost lures, rods , lines and sinkers which will snag you; that not to mention coral and rocks , as well .
At the rate that equipment is lost down there , I am sure that the number of snags increases each month .

Addictedtofishin:
No further/subsequent reports showing. Hitting them may be "hit and miss" , as the wind was fairly strong from the South on that day , as I recall.
