Going this Fri. nite w/ friend & son to NSP. Get there about dark & stay the nite til 9-10 a.m. depending on bite. We'll be in a 4-door silverado p/u. Any advise would be helpful & greatly appreciated. I sold my boat so land-lubbing. Looking forward to good fishing & meeting friendly people. Last time we were there the crabs were running & it was a madhouse. Mostly very rude people who thought they owned the pier & were doing us a favor by allowing us to wet a line.

Ah...the 20 ft poles and 2 million candle watt lights. Had many inconsiderate encounters with them swing their poles and tangling lines to get that crab that was near me, not to mention the screaming kids....I could go on and on about this issue, but I won't.
Do yourself a favor and go to the South Pier.

Fished SSP many times back yrs & yrs ago. Started fishing from NSP cause more convienient. I drive from Inverness, solid 2 hr drive. Fishing about the same I suppose? Know the SSP is alot longer & usually less crowded. Any pointers would help. I want to eat fresh fish this Sat. nite.

First off...I don't even know if the crabs are running Secondly, if I had to depend on what I catch to eat fish, I'd starve to death.
With the weather getting nice, I would expect both piers to be crowded on Fri. night.
As far tips, it depends on what your trying to catch. If your a grouper/snapper hunter, then find the rocks.

Ah yes, your referring to the summer run of the blue crab when the piers look like their are about 50 or so pool boys cleaning the bay? LOL. I have never had the pleasure of a rude encounter, but it does provide for some laughs from afar.
tight lines,
Jason

HAHAHA LMAO @ When the pier looks like 50 or so pool boys cleaning the bay! Very funny line.
Yea, all you have to do is bark at em a few times. They wont come near you. No need to be rude.. Just raise your voice . Hey! Im fishing here... Jesus. Most of em are non confrontational, but a bit stupid.
