Alright guys let me pick your brains for a second please. Ive been starting to do some wade fishing lately for a change and I havent been having alot of luck. Ive been trying predominantly at Fort D at the Arrowhead picnic area. Any tips or location hints would be appreciated. Also if you know of any other good wading areas throw them out here because I live a long ways north from there and am willing to try anywhere. Ive been using suspending MirrOLures, Berkley Jerks and Berkley Shrimp. Hopefully this will help liven up the board for a day or two as well.

East beach..best during the morning hours with good water movement..finger mullet or cut mullet for Reds..greenies have been good for the trout...lots and lots of 7-10 inch gags on the flats right now too...another good spot is right after the last toll booth, on the right side of the road. Arties will work, my best luck has been with a gold spoon and DOA under a popping cork.

try a mirrodine for the trout, or a heddon spook jr or mirrolure top dog/pup or bomber badonkadonk for trout/redfish/?snook?. ditch live bait. THIS IS WHAT FALL FISHING IS ABOUT!

I wade around E. G. Simmons Park Quite often. There is quite a few drop offs where the channels are. I catch redfish, snook, trout, and mango snapper there. Check out some satellite views. Top dog JR, gold spoons, and live baits (shrimp, greenies, mullet) is normally what I use there.

Thanks for the tips guys. Im gonna try to get out there early some day this week. Ive got a Mirrolure TopDog tied on one rod and I have the other set up with a clacking cork that Im going to put live shrimp under.
BigDawg, by the east beach do you mean take a left at the flag and go to the end of the road pretty much?

spent many days wading arrowhead! walk east to and of mangroves, turn right there is a chanel that goes south from there. work the grass break along the chanel, and also toss back occasionally over the grass. keep workin south, there will be a bomb crater with a cut that connects to the channel. if you walk slightly west around the crater, you will come to the junction of 4 channels! had many 100 to 200 trout days back there! mostly on white bait neted on way back, fished slip sinker stile with a 1/4 oz lead. flip it out into channel and work it back SLOW don't be suprised if cobia or small poons show up ! good luck!

Thanks for those awesome details Trucky I will definitely try that soon, too bad I had already gone to bed by time you posted that because I was at Arrowhead this morning at 6:30, really low tide and I got skunked. I started to the left in that little canal with the walk bridge and made my way all the way around the the mangroves on the right but I didnt go past them. Can you still make it all the way around there at high tide or should I aim for a low tide?

I don't go that far down but some do and have lots of success. turn left at the flag but then turn into that first parking lot. go all the way down to the end and then follow the trailout to the beach. lots of nice flats out there with some nice fish
