Went out sunday with some intel from a guy who was out saturday, planned on fishing the flats down by Tarpon key, but he said we shouldnt pass us the tarpon right now. We slept in becuase saturday night poker and early sunday morning fishing cant coexist.....it took me 4 years to figure that out. we loaded up the livewell with greenies and pins caught on the little stretch of flats adjacent to the north side pier toll house. went on out to the dolphins and started dropping baits. Big pinfish with 4 ounce weights( non breakaway- getting to expensive!!!!), and started hooking up immediately. we ended up getting 3 to the boat, jumping 6, and getting broken off prolly 10 times. a few small grouper and a couple keeper snapper were also caught. But it was a good day around the skyway!!!! Also did some night fishing around St pete, fishing the docks from 9-2, didnt remember all the fish we cuaght but when i finished loading the boat i told my partner look buddy, were gonna go out and slay em, im not coming in til we have 40 fish. we caught 42. Mostly trout, ended up keeping 7, kept 4 snapper, caught 3 redfish, 2 shorts and one 19", he went in the cooler, and had 8 snook, between 22-32" of course i caught the 32"! so it was a good night, got a lot of good fish, and doing our monhtly pre poker fish fry with the trout. get out there and fish!!!!!!!
