New to the boards, been reading for a couple days enjoying the information. Went to the SSP pier on july 09 recently around 7 pm til 12 pm. Not much action going on the pier from where I was (by the baitshop) Couple small snappers and throw aways. Couldn't tell if anything big was going on on the rest of the pier but it was fun anyways.

Welcome to the board. Glad you had fun. The beauty of the skyway is, parking, and you could have a stellar day, or just catch bait. but its allways fun. This time of year at night is the best in my opinion. Never know what youll see. Ive seen big ass turtle, sharks, squid, cobia, huge tarpon. Its just fun

My girlfriend had some fun catching pinfish and small snappers. These young kids like i guess under 12 were all yelling everytime a school of stingrays swim by. I chuckled to my girlfriend about it because they were trying to catch one , one minute later " We got one we got one" as they were wrestling a big one. Shut me up quick. Good fun times.
