Well Summer is officially here. Hot as H E double hockey sticks.
Anyone doing any night fishing?
If so, care to share how you did and general location?
Thinking about heading to Honeymoon Island tonight.

You should be able to get some mango at night. Try cut greenback or shrimp around the pylons or under the pier.

I took my wife and 3 girls to the NSP Friday night around 9 pm. It was so crowded that there was nowhere to park so we went over the south side which was pretty deserted . When we first set up there was a light breeze and a lot of bigger fish sloshing around just beyond the throw of the lights so I was hopeful. We quickly caught pinfish which my 10 year old enjoys since it is her goal to keep my bait bucket supplied. I put a pin out on a grouper rig and had a slow pick up by something toothy that bit it in half but missed the hook. A couple of guys to our right caught about a 3 foot black tip shark.
The wind dropped out and went dead calm. The fish quit sloshing and even the pinfish ceased biting. My 16 year old did catch one ladyfish who gave her a fun pull. My 15 year old had a huge sea turtle surface in front of her that gave her a thrill. We toughed it out a couple of more hours but it was a pretty uncomfortable night. So fishing wasn't much but it was a nice family outing. I'm hoping we can hit those snappers soon.

Me and my roomie went to the SSP Friday night as well...got there about 6pm...set up shop in the alley...No bait anywhere, took me about half hour to sabiki up a dozen or so threadfins...caught a few pinners as well...
Bite was slooooow. My roomie caught a short gag, a 16 inch mack, a 12 inch Mango snapper, and a 2ft sand shark. I caught one fish all night, a 7 inch Mango. Headed out about 11:30.
Blah.

Hoping for some action this Friday, Friday night and Saturday morning. Looks like Friday off as of now. Ate the last of the Grouper last night, the freezer is bare.
