Headed to the pier Friday after work, outgoing was in full swing, caught a few pins and greenbacks and worked the usual rockpiles, didn't manage so much as a snapper or short...but the wife caught an 14 inch flounder, so all was not lost, headed home after dark.
Today...different story, got to the pier about 9 to fish the incoming, caught pins and greenies, float my first pin and FISHON! After a little tussle with him he was a short, 19 1/2. Floated a few more in a couple of spots, never hooked up again, wife did get a big break off....in the wtf category. We switched to the other side to fish the slack and then the start of the outgoing, and within about 1 hour, we had caught 8 shorties between the two of us, ranging from 10 to 21 inches, fun!
Saw a guy catch a decent one a few lightpoles down, mackerel seemed scarce...some guys next to us had been wading the flats before the pier and caught a 22 inch flounder really nice.
Nice day overall but still no snaps! Next time!!

Forgot to mention, the guy that caught the keeper, also pulled up a rod and reel, we'd been talking earlier, and he'd seen my wife's rig go over the rail last week and was yelling at me that he'd found it!
I could see it wasn't hers from the color of rod...PLUS the fact that the last time I saw hers it was travelling fast toward DeSoto behind the boat!
