Hey guys, I've been reading the forum for months now but finally decided to say hello. Learned lots already just by reading past posts, definitely gained tons of fishing knowledge from you guys. I'm currently a student at UF; go gators! hope to see you guys on the pier some time.
was also wondering if anyones seen any mangrove snappers come over the rail? if not when do you guys think they'll be back? going to be heading to the pier tomorrow, so was hoping to target some if they were there.

howdy I've been an ACR for about 10 years now. haha Goin to santa Fe College. welcome. Its a long 2.5 hour drive to the piers but its worth it for the people and the fish. welcome mangroves are probably a best bet at night or eveningish but i'm sure someone else will say something completely different.

Not sure about anyones else but I have had a tough time finding "keeper: Snapper this spring. I think the cold weather send them off shore looking for warmer water.
Been catching some nice black sea bass this spring. mostly 8 to 11 inches.

Haven't seen any. I have seen all their buddies come over the rail though, a few key west grunts, and porgies, I pulled in a 10 inch flapjack and some monster pinfish...but not a snap to be seen yet. Waiting patiently.

Tried Friday night for a couple hours, no Snapper, did catch a few Sea Bass and other assorted fish. Still a tad early for the Snapper, but soon and they will continue to get bigger as the season progresses. Limited out every trip in the past years, and my size limit starts at 12" but I prefer them larger if possible. Late night, very early AM has always seemed prime time. Small Green Backs, or cut bait. Fish under the bridge tight to the pilings and move around and keep moving until you find them.

Went out to another pier last Wednesday and caught 8 of them in an hour. Used shrimp. Solid bite probably because of the full moon. Nothing real big but they were eating.
