Well, the wind was the big catch of the weekend, (tried to take pics but they didn't come out! ), So, got to the pier around 9 a.m. slightly breezy, fished incoming for a while, caught plenty of bait of every type, caught zip. Not even a bite, plenty of boats though sheesh...these guys, can go ANYWHERE...and they fish close to the pier. Switched to fishing the outgoing side with incoming tide..that is just a crap shoot..you can't generally feel the pick before they've got you in the rocks. That happened twice, and once when I did feel the bite was a shorty. Didn't really even see anyone pull macks out either, so maybe they're moving out? Saw that it was going to be worse Sunday so headed for areas around the Gandy, soaked some shrimp, caught some grunts, a silver trout and some big pins...tempted to keep them for the pier! Went over to that fishing pier in Wheedon, and again the giant pins but little else. Ah well, it is spring right? RIGHT? Ugh, a little breeze ok, but 20 mph...I mean after awhile the friggen sheer noise of the wind is enough. Next time.
